Alice Lawson Obituary

Alice Jean Peard Lawson
On Saturday, October 4, the family of Alice Jean Peard Lawson will gather at the Malden Cemetery to lay her to rest alongside her husband Kenneth Leslie Lawson, brother William John Peard and sister-in-law Marjorie Peard. Alice joins her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who are also buried in the Malden Cemetery. Pastor Colleen Lawrence of First Presbyterian Church, Princeton, will officiate.
Alice Lawson (1931-2025), the granddaughter of Hilda Bjork Anderson and Johann Anderson of Malden, was born in Chicago to Alice Marie Anderson Peard and William Wilfred Peard. Alice, a graduate of Hirsch High School and Lincoln Park junior college, both in Chicago, married her brother's Northwestern University roommate, Ken Lawson in 1951 in the University's Chapel. She travelled with Ken on his many overseas assignments during his career and pursued her deep interest in photography and writing
throughout her life. Alice and Ken were preceded in death by a daughter, Kristina, and a baby boy.
Alice is survived by three children, Karin (George Look), Karol Ann, and Kurt (Jill Feasley); and grandchildren Amy, Joan, and Scott.
Alice enjoyed her many visits to the village of Malden over the decades and always looked back fondly at the summers she and her brother spent in Malden as children. She will rest in peace in these familiar surroundings with husband Ken at her side.
