Beverly Barron Obituary

Beverly Jean Barron
Born: February 11, 1946 in Kewanee, Illinois
Died: May 28, 2025 in Peoria, Illinois
Beverly Jean Barron, 79, of Sheffield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 11, 1946, in Kewanee, Beverly was the daughter of James and Dorothy (Bumphrey) Harding. She grew up in rural Neponset but developed a love of travel later in life, traveling to Hawaii and going on long road trips in a camper to Alaska and down to the Gulf of Mexico in winters. She was a hard worker, dedicating more than 35 years of her life working at
Harper-Wyman, where she made history as the first woman to hold a leadership position. Her trailblazing role and unwavering commitment earned her deep respect throughout the company and opened doors for future generations of women in the workplace.
Beverly was cherished not only as a pioneer in her professional life, but as the beloved matriarch of a large and devoted family. When the whole family assembled, it was a noisy, joyful chaos of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and pets. She was a constant savior of lost animals, and there was never an injured or stray raccoon, squirrel, dog, or cat that she didn't take in. Her legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in all who knew her.
She is survived by her five daughters: Krystal Barron of Sheffield, Diana Davis of Sheffield, Theresa Davis (Chad Overman) of Swisher, Iowa, Jamie Bickett of Charleston, South Carolina, and Jennifer Taylor (Adam) of Kirkland, Illinois; her sister, Lawanda Shambaugh of Morrison; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 29 years, Wesley Barron.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2, in The Chapel of The Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton. Private online condolences may be left for the family at www.FiocchiFuneralHomes.com. Memorial donations may be directed to Sheffield Rescue Unit.

Aunt Bev was a heck of a woman. She was always so strong and knew just what she wanted. Of course she had to be strong to keep up with the 5 girls she had She had the brightest eyes and a huge smile and not an animal got by without some spoiling. She loved her family and we all loved her. She will be missed

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a force. Never met a stronger woman. She added me in many, many times as just another daughter at your house. She will be missed. Debbie Cagle Seifert
