Genevieve M. Cummins, 100, of Tiskilwa, IL passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Cabin Living in Hennepin, IL.
Genevieve was born on November 24, 1924 in Manlius, IL the daughter of Roy and Lillian (Van Deusen) Hanson. Genevieve graduated from Bureau Township High School in 1942. She married Lester Cummins in 1958. He preceded her in death. Genevieve worked as a Hair Dresser for many years prior to her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Tiskilwa Community Church. In her spare time Genevieve loved quilting, embroidery and gardening.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Curtis Lester Cummins, twin sister, Geraldine Pruitt and two brothers, Harold and Calvin Hanson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Tiskilwa Community Church in Tiskilwa, IL with Pastor Renee Kindle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Bloom Cemetery in Tiskilwa.
Memorials may be directed to the Tiskilwa Community Church.

I was a childhood friend of the Hanson family - lived across the road by the church. I remember the twins fondly and always enjoyed talking with them. Sorry for the loss but cherish the many memories you have.

Auntie Dean as we affectionately called her, was the sweetest, nicest and most caring generous woman. She remembered and sent birthday and Christmas cards every year I recall many family Christmas parties with her and aunt Jerry and their yummy Christmas cookies! Last Christmas Auntie Dean joined us for our annual traditional Hanson Christmas morning breakfastShe will be missed and remembered
