John Francis Underhill, age 64, passed away on February 13th, 2026. He was born on January 18th, 1962, in Ottawa, Illinois and later resided and passed away in Decatur, Illinois.
John was a proud graduate of Marquette High School, Class of 1980. He enjoyed following all sports, especially the Chicago Bears, fishing, watching NASCAR races, and spending time with his best friend Ruth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann Underhill (Kurtenbach), Gerald Underhill, and his grandmother, Frances Kurtenbach.
He is survived by his daughters, Lindsey (Austin) Rappeport, Emily (Kraig) Mathes, his aunt, Sara (Willy) Rosenkranz; his brothers, Bob Underhill and Ron Underhill; and others who will miss him dearly.
As per his request, there will be no services. A private grave side burial will be announced at a later date for the family.
