Joshua Craig Splitt, 17, of DePue, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at St. Margaret's Health, Spring Valley.
A visitation for Joshua will be held Friday, December 10, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in DePue. Cremation has been accorded.
Joshua was born in Spring Valley on November 10, 2004 to Stephen Craig Splitt and Hollie Melissa Godinez.
Joshua had attended the Lighted Way Association in LaSalle. He will be missed by all who knew God's newest angel.
Joshua is survived by his grandparents, Tracy and Alfredo Godinez of DePue; four brothers, Ethan McCoy, Devon Splitt, Jacob Splitt and Damien Splitt, all of DePue; his mother, Hollie Godinez, of DePue; his father, Stephen Splitt of DePue; his aunt and uncle, Chris and Melissa Godinez of Peru; his grandmothers, Vickie Troxell of DePue and Patty Splitt of Walnut; and his great-grandma, Joann Sisson of Princeton.
He was preceded in death by his two great-grandfathers, Richard Sisson and Guadalupe Godinez along with numerous other family members who loved Joshua.
Memorials may be directed to the family.

He was such a beautiful young man! I am a paraprofessional at the school for 18 years. We used to leave me dance to Boot Scootin' Boogie. He would light up with the biggest smile and laugh. Melted my heart ❤. I'll really miss him! He'll hold a special place in my heart always. My deepest sympathy to the family!
