Kurt was born in Spring Valley on January 25, 1961 and graduated Hall High School in 1979. He married Denise Metcalf on December 6, 1980.
He was operations manager at Mineral Visions-COVIA Corporation since 2007. Kurt and his wife owned and operated 3 businesses together, Loonies Bar in Peru, DJ Rocks Nightclub in LaSalle, and JT's Bar & Grill in Cherry. Music was his next love, drumming since the age of 5. He loved all music and being the rockin' drummer in the band, 4 Play. Kurt was extraordinary at baking, building, creating, and fixing anything he put his mind to. He was an avid lover of Halloween, being the music man for the Hocus Pocus Hags, and creating his haunted house for everyone to enjoy. His creativity even went into his food, as he loved to cook and create masterpieces.
Kurt lived everyday with his motto; there is nothing more important than your family – talk every thing through and say I love you every day.
Kurt beamed with pride for his family. He encouraged every goal, achievement and success with love.
Kurt is survived by his wife of 41 years, Denise, of Granville; his son, Joe (Kelly Kalman) Jeppson of LaSalle; his daughter, Gina (Josh) Worden of Ladd; and five grandchildren, Paige, Vincent, Charlie, Oliver, and Miles.
The family has requested that donations in Kurt's memory be directed to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago or Loyola University Medical Center.
