Born: January 25, 1961 in Spring Valley, IL
Died: August 24, 2021 in Maywood, IL
Kurt P. Jeppson, 60, of Granville, died at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood from complications due to COVID-19.
A public visitation for Kurt will be held on Saturday, August 28th from noon until 3 p.m. at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley. Funeral services will be private. Kurt's family has requested that everyone attending should please wear a mask.
Kurt was born in Spring Valley on January 25, 1961 and graduated Hall High School in 1979. He married Denise Metcalf on December 6, 1980.
He was operations manager at Mineral Visions-COVIA Corporation since 2007. Kurt and his wife owned and operated 3 businesses together, Loonies Bar in Peru, DJ Rocks Nightclub in LaSalle, and JT's Bar & Grill in Cherry. Music was his next love, drumming since the age of 5. He loved all music and being the rockin' drummer in the band, 4 Play. Kurt was extraordinary at baking, building, creating, and fixing anything he put his mind to. He was an avid lover of Halloween, being the music man for the Hocus Pocus Hags, and creating his haunted house for everyone to enjoy. His creativity even went into his food, as he loved to cook and create masterpieces.
Kurt lived everyday with his motto; there is nothing more important than your family – talk every thing through and say I love you every day.
Kurt beamed with pride for his family. He encouraged every goal, achievement and success with love.
Kurt is survived by his wife of 41 years, Denise, of Granville; his son, Joe (Kelly Kalman) Jeppson of LaSalle; his daughter, Gina (Josh) Worden of Ladd; and five grandchildren, Paige, Vincent, Charlie, Oliver, and Miles.
The family has requested that donations in Kurt's memory be directed to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago or Loyola University Medical Center.

I had the pleasure of working with Kurt from the time that he started working at Fairmount. Such a friendly and kind hearted guy. It was alway great to visit his facility and see the inventive ways he and his team solved issues. Loved time spent with Kurt in-person or over the phone, will miss him dearly. So sorry for your loss.

Denise, I am so sorry for your loss. Kurt was a friend and neighbor to the Prokup family while growing up on Dakota Street. We spent many hours at each other’s homes. I remember Kurt and my brother Mike starting their very first band together. May you find peace in the memories and love that you shared together.

My deepest sympathy to all of you. Kurt was a great guy and I am saddened by the news of his illness and passing. I know he will always be loved and remembered.

Back in the 90’s I spent a lot of great times with Kurt and Denise at Loonies—most notably Ladies’ Nights and seeing Night Ranger play. I’ll think of you both whenever I hear them play and send thoughts and prayers to you.
