EATON RAPIDS, Michigan – Patrick Timothy "Tim" Sterling, 70, of Eaton Rapids, Michigan and formerly of Wyanet, Illinois passed away at 10:36 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, May 27, 2021 following the visitation at the funeral home, with Father Tim Hepner officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Wyanet, Illinois.

He was born June 13, 1950 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Lawrence R. and Mary Jo (Cale) Sterling. Tim married Kathy Turner in Princeton, Illinois in 1972. Together they had two children. They later divorced.

He is survived by two children, Nick (Salena) Sterling of Ohio, Illinois, and Mary Jo "Jo Jo" Butler of Ohio, Illinois: one granddaughter, Mazey Sterling, of Ohio, Illinois; two brothers, Rick (June) Sterling of Verona, Illinois and Robbie (Janet) Huffstodt of Valparaiso, Indiana; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Sterling; one sister, Linda Beebe; and one nephew, Ben Sterling.

Tim graduated from Wyanet High School with the Class of 1969. Shortly after his graduation, he served in the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps.

Late,r he went to culinary school in Michigan. He moved to Florida and worked as a cook on an offshore oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.

Tim enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching movies and had a large VHS collection.
