This was very emotional for me. He was my friend at UFH and my Doctor for many years. He was an amazing person and leaves the greatest legacy. Condolences to his family who he loved so much and UFH friends. He will be so missed.

I was shocked to hear about Dr Cury. He was my auntie doctor many many years ago. I started going to him for my asthma, about 7 or 8 years ago. He was so loving and caring. I was waiting for my appointment. I just found out yesterday at appointment at UF. I'm going to truly miss him.
He was the best Asthma doctor I ever had. My condolences to the entire Cury family. Prayers are with you all.

At my first appt with DR. Cury, when he walked into the room, he looked me straight in the eyes and 'that smile' lit up the room. I immediately felt that I was where I needed to be. I wasn't wrong. After having radiation damage to one lung and several years of getting pneumonia frequently, I changed doctors. Dr. Cury was my choice and I had no idea at that first appointment how he would forever change my life. He gave me the tools to keep me from getting pneumonia and from 16 years ago until today, I've never had pneumonia again!
Today when I learned of his death, I became grief stricken. He wasn't just my doctor, he was my friend and more importantly, my 'go to' doctor. At my appointments, he always wanted to know how I was doing when he knew I had other health problems. He was the most caring, compassionate and loving doctor I have ever met. He was my pulmonologist for 16 years, and to say I will miss him doesn't even begin to describe the loss I feel. I know as a patient I am not alone. He was special as a human being, and "one of a kind" as a physician.

To his family, I send my sincerest condolences and deepest prayers for peace and love of the memories they will have of him.
Without a doubt his friends and coworkers will greatly miss him.

We are deeply saddened with hearing the news that Dr. Cury is no longer with us. Dr. Cury was very intellectual and genuine with everyone that he met whether they were patients, trainees, fellow coworkers, or just people in general. His physical presence at UF Health Jacksonville will be truly missed. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss. May God keep His comforting arms around you and your entire family in this time of sorrow.

When I began seeing Dr Cury for my asthma I was uncontrolled and in the ER a couple of times each year. I cried in the car after my first visit because he listened to me and he understood me. In the years since we gained control of my asthma and we also became friends. I don't think I will ever have another doctor like my friend Dr Cury. My heart goes out to his family, his colleagues and his patients.

Dr Cury was a wonderful doctor and teacher but he also was a great person. When my cousin was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis I was desperate to prove he didn´t have it. Dr Cury was patient and giving of his time to pore over Bill´s records He was so kind. At the time he had not seen me in twenty years Your memory is truly a blessing Dr Cury. Blessings to your family

I´m so sorry to hear this very sad news. I´ve known Davey since elementary school and worked with him at UFHealth. I will be praying for the family. He was too young to have left us.
