RICHARD LOVEKAMP Richard Lovekamp, 92, of Arenzville passed away Thursday August 7, 2025 in Arenzville. He was born January 31, 1933 in Bluff Springs, Illinois, the son of Lorenz and Delia Carls Lovekamp. He married Marilyn Burrus November 14, 1954, at St. Peters Lutheran Church near Arenzville, and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2023. Richard is survived by one son, Chris (Jane) Lovekamp of Owensboro, KY; two daughters, Susan (David) Beard of Arenzville, IL, and Cathy (Carl) Goldsborough of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren, Clare (Jeff) Thompson of Memphis, TN, Peter (Andrea) Lovekamp of Nashville, TN, Philip (Diane) Lovekamp of San Francisco, CA, Anna Lovekamp of Chicago, IL, Stephanie (James) Snyder of New Berlin, IL, Nathan (Laura) Beard of Arenzville, IL, and Lily Goldsborough of Cincinnati, OH; 12 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Eleanor and Abigail Thompson; Charlotte and Lucy Lovekamp; J'Leonne, Geneva, Lena, Londyn and Asher Snyder; Kamden, Easton and Hunter Beard; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Lois Quigg. Richard attended Union Grove Country School and Trinity Lutheran Grade School. He was a 1950 graduate of Arenzville High School, and a 1959 graduate of U of I College of Agriculture. He served in the United States Airforce from 1952-1956, with two years spent in Japan at Itazuke Airforce Base during the Korean conflict. Richard was a longtime farmer in Cass, Morgan, and Schuyler Counties. He was a life-long member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville. He served as their organist/pianist, and held various offices. A funeral service will be held Monday August, 11, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will meet friends Monday 9:00 a.m - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church and School, or Lutheran Heritage Foundation.
