Adam Roelfs
December 1, 1983 - May 17, 2025
Adam Edward Roelfs, 41, of rural Diller, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2025.
He was born on December 1, 1983, to Dean and Beth (Henrichs) Roelfs. Adam grew up on the family farm and graduated from Diller-Odell High School in 2002. He earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanized Systems Management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2006. After graduation, he spent seven years working for Halliburton in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas as a wireline engineer before returning home to farm and raise cattle alongside his family.
Adam was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Diller, where he remained a member throughout his life. From a young age, he was deeply involved in the family's farming operation, helping care for the cattle and spending many long, hard days working with the hogs. During his school years, Adam was active in 4-H and FFA-earning his State Farmer Degree-and also participated in football, track, and powerlifting. In more recent years, he raised sweet corn and his mother's favorite pumpkins, and each summer he defended his crop against raccoons-often using extreme measures-to protect his harvest.
Adam had an uncommonly sharp wit, an ornery streak, and a way of making everyday moments memorable. He shared a strong bond with his family and enjoyed spending time with them-often gathered for Sunday dinners, working side by side on the farm, or just being nearby. Adam will be remembered for his unique humor, his devotion to family, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Dean and Beth Roelfs of rural Diller; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Stacy Roelfs, and niece, Aubrey Roelfs of rural Diller. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Don and June Roelfs, Clarence Henrichs and Cleo (Henrichs) Perkins; step-grandfather, Howard Perkins; uncle, Neal Roelfs; and cousin, Emily Roelfs.
