PRATT, Kan. - Dawn Dena Caywood, 87, Pratt, Kan., died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the Hilltop Manor in Cunningham, Kan. She was born March 24, 1915, in Oakland, Iowa, the daughter of Fred O. and Blanche V. (Potter) Bates, and had been a resident of Pratt and Mullinville, Kan., and Beatrice, Neb. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Greensburg, Bon Tres Club, EHU at Mullinville, and was a member of the Mullinville United Methodist Church. She was married to Clyde O. Caywood on May 15, 1938, at Rockport, Mo.
Survivors: son, Joel Caywood of Pratt; daughter, Jeanne Carson of Pratt; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred O. and Blanche V. (Potter) Bates; husband, Clyde O. Caywood; infant son; brother, Vertis Bates; sisters, Iola Falk, Marguerite Aldrich, Meriol Davis.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. Cremation following service. Burial: 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville, Kan. Visitation: 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Memorials to South Wind Hospice, Mullinville United Methodist Church or Martin Luther Childrens Home in care of Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, KS 67124-3149.
