Jessica Feller

1972 - 2025

It is with heavy hearts we announce our beloved Jessica passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by love. Known for her strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to helping others, Jessica touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Though her passing leaves a deep void, her warmth, generosity, and kindness will continue to live on through the many lives she impacted and the memories she created with family and friends.

After growing up in New Jersey, Jessica came to Nebraska in 1995 when she was accepted into the Law School at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After finding it on the map, she arrived to the East Campus thinking she was going to be living in the country with all the cowboys but was pleasantly surprised to discover that Lincoln was a thriving city. She quickly grew to love it.

Jessica graduated in 1998 with her law degree and later earned a Masters in Special Education in 2005. During her more than 30 years in Nebraska, Jessica created a community of many lifelong friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jessica dedicated her career to helping children and families through her work in Child Protective Services with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, in both Lincoln and Beatrice. Though it was a very stressful career and often heartbreaking dealing with the very serious needs of abused and neglected children, it was her compassionate heart that made a difference in the lives of countless kids and families. She received a special award from the Child Advocacy Center in Lincoln for her extraordinary service. In 2021, Jessica retired due to health reasons, a difficult decision for someone so devoted to her work. She often spoke of how much she missed helping others.

At home in Beatrice, Jessica lived with a variety of rescue poodles, who she dearly loved. She enjoyed reading crime fiction and devoured books at a serious pace. She loved going to the movie theater to catch all the new releases, saw many shows at the local arts center, went out to eat experiencing many different cuisines, was especially fond of Indian food, and binge watching series, sometimes several times. E.R. was a favorite. She was always a great advocate for the environment and did her best to make choices that wouldn't harm it.

Despite making Nebraska her home, she always cherished returning to New Jersey to spend time with her family. Jessica leaves behind an adoring father, Harvey Feller, a cherished brother, two loving sisters and a niece and nephews who meant the world to her.

Jessica's intelligence, wit, kindheartedness, and dedication to others will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
