Josh Newman

Josh Newman, 28, of Beatrice, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at his home. He was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, 1988 at Beatrice and grew up in Odell.

He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice and worked with his dad at Harm's Trucking Inc., and previously at Jet Racing and Auto Shop Inc. He married Haleigh Hanshaw on Oct. 10, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed racing, fishing, hunting, working on old cars, and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Haleigh of Beatrice; daughter, Kinzlee of Beatrice, who was born on Oct. 20, 2011; his parents, Jason Newman and special friend Heidi Hornbeak and Kerrie Newman and special friend Kevin Helms, all of Beatrice; brother, Corbin Newman and wife Jenn of Beatrice; sister, Gabby Newman and special friend Zane Fox of Beatrice; parents-in-law, Craig and Lisa Evers, and Matt and Amy Hanshaw, all of Beatrice; sisters-in-law, Michaela Wilcox and fiancé Paul Burck, Jordan Hanshaw, and Dalaney Evers, all of Beatrice; grandparents, Steve and Mary Jo Newman of Beatrice, Charles and Sandra Vitosh of Odell, Gary and Desiree Barrett of Beatrice, LaVern and Marilyn Dissmeyer of Beatrice, Dale and Cindy Evers of Beatrice, Charles Higgins of Beatrice, and Max and Beulah Hanshaw of Endicott; great-grandmother, Dorothy Newman of Geneva; nephews, Noah Copas and Collin Newman of Beatrice; niece, Addisyn Burck of Beatrice.

He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Edward Newman, and Iola and Don Mellage; grandfather, Ronald Zimmerman; grandmother-in-law, Vonnie Higgins; grandparents-in-law, Marilyn and Robert Frey.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Myron Meyer officiating. A memorial has been established to Kinzlee's education fund. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing, but a register book will be available from Tuesday noon until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox Funeral Home. The family will meet and greet relatives and friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home.
