June M. Wilkinson, 81 of Beatrice, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center.
She was born June 17, 1931 at Crab Orchard, Neb., and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1948. She was married to David Wilkinson on January 23, 1951 in Beatrice. She farmed with her husband until he passed away in 1970. She then worked at First National Bank for 21 years, retiring in 1993. June enjoyed traveling, bowling , collecting Precious Moments, pets, especially her dog, Whiskers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities.
June is survived by her children, Donna Seitz and husband James of Grand Island, Neb.,, Duane Wilkinson and wife Joyce of Burchard, Neb., Janice Kruse of Elkhorn, Neb., Deb Harder of Lincoln, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Merla Laug of Tecumseh, Neb., and Ruth Thober of Beatrice; brothers-in-law, Howard Wilkinson and wife Helen of Crab Orchard, Larry Wilkinson and wife Corrine of Beatrice; sister-in-law Shirley Wilkinson of Waverly, Neb.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Dena (Wehmer) Porter, husband David Wilkinson, brother and sister-in-law Roy and Marcella Porter, brothers-in-law Clarence Laug, Kenneth Thober and Martin Wilkinson; grandson-in-law Heath Frink.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, at the Centenary United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Spence officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 in the church parlor. Burial will be in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Lewiston, Neb.
Visitation will be held at the Harman-Wright Mortuary Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m.-9 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour preceding services at the church on Monday.
