Lloyd Jordening Obituary
February 19, 1942 - September 20, 2025
Lloyd O. Jordening passed away at Whispering Winds Cottage in Beatrice on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the age of 83. He was born on February 19, 1942 on a farm near Daykin, Nebraska to Edwin and Edna (Marschman) Jordening. Lloyd was a 1959 graduate of Fairbury High School, Fairbury, Nebraska. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard in Fairbury from November 1959 until March 1965. Lloyd married Merna Workman on July 29, 1962 in Beatrice and two children, Donnetta and Douglas were born to this union.
Lloyd worked at Dempsters, AAA Salvage, and for Hoover Group before his retirement. He then mowed various lawns in Beatrice for over 20 years. He loved racing in Beatrice, and NASCAR racing. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Merna; his daughter, Donnetta (Tom) Wilkinson; 2 granddaughters, Crystal Jordening and Jessica (Tony) McGrail; 4 great grandchildren, Sadie Hutchinson, Owen Jordening, and Maddox and Miles McGrail. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Jordening (7-25-2008); parents in law, Ralph and Laura Workman; his best friend CP and sis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice. The family suggest wearing casual wear. The service will be Livestreamed on www.ghchapel.com. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place, but a register book will be available to sign Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery with military honors provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
