Margie Trauernicht Obituary

Margie Trauernicht

January 2, 1933 - April 21, 2025

Marjorie "Margie" Trauernicht of Beatrice passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. She was born on January 2, 1933, in Beatrice to Adam and Cora (Gray) Hohbein. Margie lived her whole life in Beatrice. She graduated from Beatrice Senior High. In 1951 she married William Trauernicht (Bill) and had two children, Tammie and Ted. When she wasn't raising and dedicating her time making sure her children would have every opportunity in life, she held down a full-time job at Agruim Fertilizer for 35 years.

Margie loved nothing more than creating heaven on earth. Margie and her husband Bill founded Cottonwood Beach near Blue Springs, Neb. in 1958 and worked every moment they could (along with nephew Chuck) to have a place called the "beach" to enjoy with family and friends. She left no branch on the ground, no rock out of place, no fire unattended, no fish uncaught and no cheek untanned. Beside her family it was her heart and soul.

There was no bigger fan than Margie during football season. Let's shout out "Go Big Red" one more time in her honor.

Margie was preceded in death by husband, William (Bill) Trauernicht; parents, Adam and Cora Hohbein; brothers and sisters, Marion, Doris, Charles, Gene, Sara and their spouses. Bill's brothers and their spouses. She also misses many wonderful friends.

Margie is survived by son, Ted; daughter, Tammie; grandchildren, Tom (Felicia), Ben (Lexi), Reid, Remi, Alexandra; great-grandchildren, Myla and Mackenzie; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

There are no services or visitation planned.

We invite you to share your memories of Margie, or upload photos to her memorial page at www.ghchapel.com. It is in these shared experiences and captured moments where we can remember and celebrate the life of Margie Trauernicht.

These arrangements have been entrusted to the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
