FAIRBURY - Robert Roode, 87, Fairbury, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. He was born Oct. 18, 1915, at Fairbury and was the owner of Roode Packing at Fairbury.
Survivors: wife, Miriam "Pooty" (Rasse) Roode; son, Tom Roode of Fairbury; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Helen Krause of Lincoln, Irene Luby Ackman of Fairbury. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosecrans and Winefred (Costello) Roode; an infant son; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Fairbury, Father William Grant officiating. Burial: Fairbury Cemetery. Vigil service: 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Gerdes-Meyer Chapel, Fairbury. Memorials to family choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, Fairbury.
