Ronald E. Hausman, 57, of Pickrell, died in a Lincoln hospital on Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was born on Nov. 2, 1956, in Beatrice, and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1975.
Ronald worked at Beatrice Super Market and Gibsons, and when his parents purchased the Pickrell Locker, he worked with them. He purchased the Locker in 1999. He married Pam Valentine on April 30, 1976 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice. He served on Pickrell Volunteer Fire and Rescue for more than 15 years and had been the chief and assistant chief. He had also been a member of the Pickrell Town Board for more than 30 years. He is a former member of St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice where he was baptized and confirmed. He was currently a member of the Pickrell United Methodist Church. He loved his family and socializing with his close friends during his daily deliveries. He also liked to cook, cater, coach his grandson's baseball team, hunt, watch Husker football and especially help other people in the Pickrell community.
Survivors include his wife, Pam, of Pickrell; two daughters, Jennifer Miller and special friend Dan Bohlmeyer, and Amy Hausman, all of Pickrell; one son, Adam Hausman and wife Amanda, of Beatrice; special other daughter, Crystal Harris, of Omaha; six grandchildren, Drew, Bryce and Elodie Hausman, Alexis Miller, Kaylah Jackson, and Chase Woltemath; two sisters, Sherri Carnes and husband Bob, and Teresa Hausman, all of Beatrice; one brother, Terry Hausman and wife Gayla, of Beatrice; one brother-in-law, Paul Valentine and special friend Diane Borgman, both of Beatrice; parents-in-law Ralph and Lyla Valentine, of Beatrice; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Martha Neal Hausman.
Funeral services will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, with Rev. Lila Bottolfsen officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery of Pickrell. A family prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. A memorial has been established with Dana and Kim Pittman in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from noon Tuesday until 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church one hour preceding the services on Thursday.
