Dear Tara,
I write this note of condolence with a heavy heart. Hara, Anya and I were so deeply saddened by this news and you and Luke have been in our thoughts constantly. We will always remember Ben and his courageous attitude. I know he was a wonderful father and husband and that you, along with so many others, will carry him in your hearts forever.
It is with profound regret that we were unable to attend the service today as we had to be out of town due to a family matter. We all hope that the coming days and months bring peace and healing.
With affection,
Eleni

Tara;
I am praying fervently for you and Luke as you journey through this trying time. I haven't seen you in years, but keep up to date on your life through my mother, and have been praying for Ben since I heard of his illness. I pray for strength, courage and peace for you and Luke. I have heard such wonderful things about you and Ben and your life together, and I will keep you in my thoughts.
Love,

Tara, I did not know you or your husband but read his obituary in today's paper and felt the need to reach out to you. My husband, TJ, died of esophogeal cancer on June 19. I know the devastation of this particularly lethal cancer. I hope to work to increase awareness of this disease. Please know that I share your loss and pray for serenity for you and your family. While I've met many cancer patients, I've not met any with esophogeal cancer. If ever you would like to contact me I'd be pleased to talk with you or listen. My prayers are with you and your family.

Ben was one of the most genuine and respectful people we have had the pleasure to know and love. He was a treasure in our family and to all the friends he made in his life. As a husband and father, he was loving and devoted to providing the best life possible to Tara and Luke. Our family has and will do whatever we can to support Tara and Luke now and always, in the way Ben would have wished. We will teach Luke how to golf and live the life his father lived - true, full, and with love and devotion to Tara. Ben will be missed, but not forgotten, and loved always.
