Brittney Dio

1993 - 2022

Brittney Marling Dio, 28, of Montgomery, Texas, was reunited with the Lord on February 17, 2022, after a lengthy and debilitating battle with chronic illness.



Brittney was born on March 3, 1993, in Houston, Texas, to Robert and Kim Marling. She graduated from The Woodlands College Park High School in 2011. In 2015, she obtained her bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University. It was there she met the love of her life, Taylor Dio, whom she married in the most beautiful fairytale wedding on June 28, 2014. They shared a love and connection beyond compare. On December 29, 2017, they welcomed their precious daughter Anika Kimberly, who immediately became their whole world.



Brittney brought an undeniable warmth and presence into every room with her beautiful smile and contagious laughter. She exuded passion in every area of her life, whether it was triathlons, fitness, nutrition, party planning, video scrapbooking, concerts, two-step dancing, and cheering for her beloved Aggies. Brittney absolutely loved music, especially her version of "real" country music.

Her fun-loving personality created an atmosphere where any day could be a celebration. She especially loved holidays and meticulously planned every detail. She loved grand gestures and never missed an opportunity to show the people she loved how much she cared.

Family and friends were Brittney's entire world. She shared a very special and unique relationship with her mother, Kim. They were the best of friends and Kim was by her side on her wedding day as her Matron of Honor. Her brothers Brandon and Charlie brought so much laughter, fun, and humor into her life. She loved her dad's jokes, his giving heart for his family and community, and what an incredible Boppy he is to Anika.



Brittney so dearly loved her husband, and they were soulmates in every sense of the word. Their commitment to one another was absolute. In Brittney's own words: "The common denominator in all the happiest, most breathtaking moments of my life: You."



Anika was Brittney's pride and joy. She simply adored her and was so proud of each of Anika's accomplishments. She treasured her daughter's kisses and cuddles and lived for her laughter and infectious joy. Anika favors her mother in the most beautiful way, and we know Brittney will continue to shine through Anika each and every day.



There aren't enough words in the English language to properly pay tribute to someone like Brittney. The world will never be the same without her, but we know that she's dancing in heaven and free of pain.



Brittney is survived by her husband Taylor and daughter Anika; her parents Kim and Robert; her brother Brandon, his wife Megan, and their daughters Thea and Maeve; and her brother Charlie and his wife Aimee. Brittney is preceded in death by her grandfather Jim Miller and grandmother Patty Marling.



A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at The Woodlands Church, One Fellowship Drive, The Woodlands, Texas. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 25, at 10:00 am at The Woodlands Church. All are welcome. We would ask those attending to please reflect Brittney's vibrant spirit through their attire. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the celebration will be available at live.wc.org.
