George LeBlanc Obituary

1930 - 2015 George T. LeBlanc (Tommy), of Beaumont, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 29, 2015, at the age of 84, surrounded by his family. Tommy was born in Victoria, Texas, on October 23, 1930. He graduated from Beaumont High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A & M University. After completing college, Tommy dutifully served his country in the Korean War and continued to serve his country long after returning home as a member of the Army Reserves, where he obtained the rank of Colonel. Upon returning to Beaumont, Tommy wed his beloved wife, Jan, on August 3, 1957. They were married for fifty-two years. Tommy cherished the time he spent at home with his wife and kids. Always there for them, he provided the rock on which they could build their lives and futures. His family, in return, loved and adored him for his unyielding dedication and unconditional love. Always referred to as Tommy and never Mr. LeBlanc, he spent the next fifty-five years of his life as first, Vice President and then President of Gulf Coast Machine and Supply, where his number one priority was always to take care of the employees, which he considered to be his extended family. Tommy was an active member of the community serving as President of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, President of United Way, President of The Three Rivers Council of The Boy Scouts, President of the Spindletop Little League, President of the YMBL, President of Rotary Club of Beaumont, The Beaumont Lions Club, The Sales and Marketing Executives Club, The Lamar University Cardinal Club, and a past Steward of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Clifford LeBlanc, Sr., and his beloved wife, Jan LeBlanc He is survived by his children, David LeBlanc and his wife, Nancy; Stacey Green and her fiance, Steve Haverin; and Terri Broussard; grandchildren, Daniel and his wife, Jennifer Lynn; Jennifer Renee; Nelson; Logan and his wife, Kayla; Trent; and Trace; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Lawson, and Kaygan; twin brother, Clifford LeBlanc, Jr.; sister, Dr. Judith LeBlanc; and his two dogs, Sam and Paco. The family would like to express their appreciation to Tommy's nurses, the employees of Calder Woods and Harbor Hospice, for their care and support over the past year. A gathering of Mr. LeBlanc's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. I am so sorry for your loss. Tommy was my employer and friend from our young married lives and raising our kids. He and Jan were alway fun to be with. My memories are very good.
Tommy will be missed but I know he is at peace with Jan.

I have many fond memories of the good times Tommy and I spent at Texas A & M, and in Beaumont. They were fun and exciting, and I was privileged to shared them with him. He was an attendant at my wedding. I am confident the reunion he has with his wife Jan, who preceded him, will be a joyous one in the House of the Lord. I am proud to have had him as a friend. May the peace of Christ reside with Tommy and Jan, and bring comfort to their family.
