Jesse Weaver Obituary

Jesse Hoyt Weaver of Kirbyville, Texas passed away at the age of 92 Tuesday afternoon January 22, 2013 at the Avalon Place Nursing Home in Kirbyville. Mr. Weaver was born January 15, 1921 in Homer, Texas to Albert Jesse and Lula Jackson (Conner) Weaver. He was the eighth of nine children. He moved to Kirbyville when he was nine years old. He worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp form 1939 to 1940 in Ajo, Arizona and St. George, Utah. He then worked at the Orange Ship Yard in Orange, Texas until the start of World War II. He joined the United States Navy in 1942 where he served as a dry dock specialist in the New Herbrides Islands (present day Vanuatu) and the Philippines. He was honorably discharged at the end of the war in 1946. After the war he returned to South East Texas where he met and married the love of his life Pearline Eulalor Doyen on August 3, 1947. He raised five children and operated his dairy farm in Kirbyville from 1947 to 1978. After retirement he made windmills from bicycle parts as a hobby and was featured on Channel 6 Positively South East Texas in 1991. He spent much of his later years as a devoted husband assisting and caring for his wife while she suffered from Parkinson's disease until her death in 2006. He was admitted into Avalon Nursing Home in 2008. Mr. Weaver was a lifelong and active member of the Kirbyville Church of Christ until the time of his death. He is survived by children Jimmy Weaver and his wife Anita of Lumberton, Jerry Weaver of Lumberton, Jack Weaver and his wife Cindy of Cypress, Texas, Jane West and her husband Howard of Old Salem, and Jeffery Weaver and his wife Robin of Jasper; a brother, Bruce Weaver of Houston; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearline Eulalor Weaver; parents, Jesse Albert and Lula Weaver; grandson Steve West; brother Eugene Weaver; sisters, Claude Scroggins, Effie Prewitt, Reddy Weaver, Opal Ault, Marche Weaver, and Lillian Huber. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial and Military Honors at Trout Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

I apologize for not having learned of this in time to drive to Kirbyville for services. Mr Hoyt was a good man and I am sorry for your loss. He and your mom built a strong family foundation to hold you up. God's blessings upon you all.
