Mary Lillian Carruth

1929 - 2018 Mary Lillian Carruth, 89, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Silsbee Oaks Health Care. She was born on February 14, 1929, to Roberta DeSpain Dickey and Reverend Eugene Dickey, in Beaumont. Mary was a blessing to everyone that knew her. She was tireless in using her musical talent in many ways including playing for churches, school districts, and numerous weddings and funerals in the community. Mary taught piano lessons to many including her own grandchildren and was faithful in her service for over sixty years. Survivors include her husband, Claude M. Carruth; daughters, Paula Hargroger and her husband, Don, of Lumberton, and Claudia Mouer and her husband, Vince, of Houston; grandchildren, Jared Hargroder; Rachel Shaver and her husband, David; Matthew Mouer; and Kelsey Mouer; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Hargroder, Dawson Shaver, Karsyn Shaver, and Haleigh Shaver. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Billy Dickey and Benny Dickey. A gathering of Mrs. Carruth's family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2018, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
