Richard Bentlee Greer

Richard Bentlee Greer, 48, of Nederland, Texas, passed away on January 21, 2008 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Christy M. Greer of Nederland, daughters Katie Barnett of Norfolk, Virginia and Danielle Smitheman of California; mother, Kathaline Greer of Beaumont; sister, Kathaline Loftin of Doucette; brother, John Perry Greer III of Beaumont; father-in-law and mother-in-law Tim and Ellie Royer of Groves; loving grandmother, Phyllis Guidry of Port Arthur; beloved aunts and uncles and beloved family friend, Frances Jones of Beaumont and also survived by two granddaughters and one grandson. He is preceded in death by brothers Stephen and Timothy, sister, Gina Michele and beloved father, John Perry Greer, Jr. He was employed as a fork lift driver at Modern Manufacturing. He was a twenty-year Navy veteran. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland. Memorial service will be Thursday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home, with Father Dan Malain officiating.
