Robert Fulbright Obituary

Robert Bob Stevens Fulbright, 56, of Beaumont, died Monday, June 1, 2009. He was born on December 11, 1952, to Dick Fulbright and Elizabeth Ann Libby Abbott in Beaumont, Texas. Bob grew up in Beaumont and attended Sallie Curtis and George C. Marshall Middle School. He received his High School Diploma from Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania and Bachelors in English from Southern Methodist University. Bob had a successful career for many years as the Director of Creative Services for WAVE3 TV in Louisville, Kentucky before returning home to Beaumont in retirement. He was a loving father to his two children, Kate and Mack, and was very active and respected within the Beaumont AA Chapter. He is survived by his daughter, Kate Fulbright of Beaumont; son, Mack Fulbright of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers, Bill Fulbright and his wife Hayley of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Richard Fulbright and his wife Jody of Plano; nieces and nephews, Scarlett Fulbright of Alpharetta, Georgia, Eric Fulbright, and Julia Fulbright of Plano; his uncle Mack Fulbright and aunt Gloria of Beaumont, and aunt Carmen Anderson of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and a host of many fond cousins. His parents, Dick and Elizabeth Ann Fulbright preceded him in death. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be Friday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard's. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Church of Beaumont, 1555 South 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas 77707. Complete and updated information may be viewed at broussardsmortuary.com.

I was sorry to hear about Bob's passing, and yet glad to know he's out of the tremendous pain he dealt with daily. I have fond "Survivor" memories, & memories of a trip to Akron OH. I will continue to miss him. My very best to Kate & Mack. Take care.
