Sharpe Robert

1967 -2014 Robert Sharpe passed away Monday, September 15, 2014. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 46 years on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 11a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Robert's family has requested that family and friends stay and join them as they continue celebrating his life with a reception following the service. Robert Joseph was born on December 7, 1967 to Robert and Theresa Fournier Sharpe in Lewiston, ME. On January 25, 1991, Robert married the love of his life, Leslie Schneider in Beaumont, Texas. Robert grew up in Beaumont and graduated from West Brook High School in 1987. During his high school years, he played golf for both the Monsignor Kelly High School Bulldogs and was a member of the State Championship Thomas Jefferson High School team of Port Arthur. Robert has played golf for most of his life, beginning at age ten where he could be found playing on the course at Port Arthur Country Club along with his brother, Bill. He was a member of the Houston Junior Golf Association and played in tournaments all over the state. Once he graduated, Robert attended Temple Junior College on a golf scholarship. After a two year enlistment in the army, he moved back to Beaumont where he and Erin were married. Robert worked at Wildflower Country Club in Temple, Texas, Sammons Golf Course in Temple, Texas and Brentwood Country Club in Beaumont. Robert, Erin, and their children moved to Lubbock in December of 2001 where Robert attended Graduate School at Texas Tech University. During Robert's time in Lubbock, he was very active in the soccer community coaching teams in both the Lubbock Soccer Association as well as for Jazz Soccer Club. He worked at the Rawls Course for the past five years. He was the tournament director for the Junior Golf program of the North Texas PGA. Robert was an incredible teacher and promoter of the game of golf and he will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Erin Schneider Sharpe, their children, Garrett, Bobby, Will, Kaitlin, and Abby Sharpe; his mother, Theresa, siblings, Bill Sharpe and wife, Kim, Belinda McGinty and husband, Kris, and Brenda Smith and husband, Neil. He was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Carrol Sharpe. Memorial contributions are welcome and the family suggests the Robert J.
