William Cable Obituary

William D. Bill Cable, 75, of Beaumont, died late Monday night, November 26, 2012, at College Street Health Care Center, Beaumont. He was born on February 3, 1937, in Beaumont, to Olin and Nayda Cable, and had been a lifelong resident of Beaumont. Bill graduated from Beaumont High School in 1955 and attended The University of Texas and Lamar University where he earned degrees in chemical engineering and business. Bill enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was a member of the Gideons International, editor of the Rotary Club, president of the Beaumont Club for five years, Calder Baptist and Calvary Baptist Church where he taught bible study. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Wahwiece Hobbs Cable; son, Drew Cable and his wife, Karen, of Nederland; daughter, Danya Cable Hatley of College Station; grandchildren, Daniel Cable, Justin Cable, Hillary Hatley, Natalie Hatley, and Austin Hatley; and brother, Ray Cable of Houston. He was dearly loved. A gathering of Mr. Cable's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012, at Broussard's, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, 3005 Calder Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702 or to a charity of one's choice. From the 1st grade on through BHS, he was one of the best friends a person could have. Wonderful memories of those school years with his hi-school sweetheart,Wawhiece.....he will be missed.
