A. Laumbattus Obituary

A. Fred Laumbattus
A. Fred Laumbattus, 83, of Marissa, Ill., born Aug. 17, 1921, in Marissa, Ill., died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, after a sudden illness.

He also helped with the Community Food Pantry each week, together with his friend, Felix Rhein. Fred was an avid sports fan, whether it be the Marissa Meteors, or the St. Louis Ram. He seldom missed any activity his grandchildren participated in, and he was their No. 1 Fan Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore "Ticky" and Katherine Laumbattus; two brothers, Ralph Laumbattus and Harley Laumbattus; an uncle, Matthew "Bucky" Feurer; and infant son, Mark David Laumbattus; and a granddaughter, Amanda Jane Laumattus.

He was "Grandpa Fred" to Courtney (John) Dagner, Rebecca Kay Laumbattus, Justin, Jordan and Jacob Laumbattus, and Dani and Kelsey Powers. He was great-grandpa to Alex and Kaylee Dagner. Other survivors include his brothers, Emmett (Winona "Billie") Laumbattus of Marissa, Ill., and James (Martha) Laumbattus of New Athens, Ill.; and his sisters, Theo Mae "Sue" (Lee) Fulton of Marissa, Ill., and Minnie Ann "Sally" (Charles) Fitch of Greenville, Ky.

December 10, 2004

Mary & I would like to extend heartfelt sympathy to the Laumbattus Family. Fred and I went through grade & high school together, graduating in 1939 and enjoyed many class reunions over the years. May God's Love comfort the family and give you strength at this difficult time.

My sympathy to the Laumbattus family. Kevin and Casey...I am sorry. Of course my most vivid memories of your dad are always at the basketball games yelling at the refs. (Hey, someone had to keep them in line!) God's Peace. Cathy
