Remember me when flowers bloom

Early in the spring;

Remember me on sunny days

In the fun that summer brings.

Remember me in the fall

As you walk through leaves of gold;

And, in the wintertime, remember me

In the stories that are told.

But, most of all, remember

Each day, right from the start,

That I will be forever near,

For I live within your heart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 3 at St. Mary's in Belleville, Ill. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

I use to work with Al at Peerless many years ago. He was a great person to get to know. I'll miss the days at Moto Mart when I made him wait in line while I bought all of my lottery tickets, but he would always smile and say "get to work." He will be sadly missed.

What a shock this was to me and my family. Allen was a great guy - always willing to help with projects, add his expertise, and excellent design sense. I will never forget the times I helped him and my dad with decorating at St. Mary's or any other outside event, and the lighthearted jokes and remarks he would make. These remarks and "Allen-isms" will live on in our family for years - something to look back and smile about. Another great memory is all the times I would pass him on the road, seeing the load of stuff in his car from his Saturday morning trips to Garden Ridge, Hobby Lobby, etc...all great classy decorations that he would find for dirt cheap prices and donate to St. Mary's. Allen redefined the term "Smart Shopper". He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and acquaintances.

I went to St. Mary's grade school with both Allen and Stephen. I also saw both brothers several months ago at Memorial Hospital where I am employed. My sympathy is with the entire Schaefer family. Nancy (Reeb) Zahner

Words alone cannot express our sympathy. To say that his time with us was far too short is an understatement. The reality is that he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. May God bless you and your wonderful family.

My dear Allen, How do I even start to say what you mean to me. I will miss you more than words could even say. I can set hear and close my eyes and hear you come in the kitchen door and say to Steve "sleppin i guess" or just comin by for no other reasson than to play "hog" with Cody. You are more than a Brother in Law to me you are and always will be a Brother. I will keep the memories of you in my heart and when I walk out in my yard and see each flower that you planted in just the right spot I will know that you are with us. I Love You
