Bill J. Hummert
November 24, 1946 - June 3, 2021
St. Louis, MO and formerly of Breese, Illinois - Bill J. Hummert, age 74, of St. Louis and formerly of Breese, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.
He was born November 24, 1946 in Breese, son of the late Robert "Bob" and Lorraine, nee Lampen, Hummert and married Carol Fuehne on June 25, 1971 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese and she survives in St. Louis.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Rob Hummert and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ted and Johanna, nee Winkler, Fuehne.
Bill is survived by his wife; daughters, Leah (Robb) Watkins of Wentzville, MO, and Kelly (Amit Dhawan) Hummert of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter, Lila Evangeline Dhawan; brothers David (Carol) Hummert of Breese, and Jim (Diane) Hummert of Breese; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pat Hummert of Breese, Jim (Judy) Fuehne of New Baden, Jean (Barry) Brown of St. Louis, and Tom Fuehne of St. Louis.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as a highway maintainer. He was a member of Incarnate Word Parish in Chesterfield, MO and formerly a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese. Bill enjoyed spending time at his clubhouse, golfing, playing cards, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, but his pride and joy was his granddaughter, Lila
All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Operation Food Search and will be received by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th, Breese, IL, 62230 who is serving the family.

A SLOW SALUTE TO A FELLOW VETERAN
THANK YOU - FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. You are one of our heroes. We will remember you always and miss you dearly. Take your Warrior's rest for a duty well done.
I wish to extend to members of your family my deepest sympathy on their loss. May the force of GOD be with them as they walk through this difficult time. May the loving promises of our LORD and Savior comfort them and give them peace.
