O'Fallon, Illinois - Brett W. Fredericksen Sr., 61, of O'Fallon, IL, born on June 5, 1962, in Arlington Heights, IL, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Memorial East Hospital in Shiloh, IL.
Brett was a devoted husband and father who, no matter the situation, could always make his family laugh. Brett gave back to his community as a volunteer fireman for O'Fallon Fire Rescue and served on the local "Soup Bus" taking meals into disadvantaged Metro-East neighborhoods. He was a financial advisor for more than 30 years, most recently with Stifel, Nicolaus & Company in St. Louis, MO.
Brett's other interests included hunting, fishing, and hiking, especially in the mountains of Montana. As a devoted Christian, Brett was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a member of the O'Fallon, Illinois Knights of Columbus.
Brett was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Fredericksen.
Brett is survived by his mother, Delores Fredericksen (nee Podkulski); his beloved wife, of 32 years, Margaret (Marti) Fredericksen (nee Boyer) of O'Fallon, IL; their two children, Brett W. Fredericksen, Jr. PhD. of Minneapolis, MN, Emily R. Fredericksen of O'Fallon, IL; three brothers, Kurt Fredericksen of Addison, IL, Scott (Sue) Fredericksen of Prairie du Sac, WI, Todd (Libby) Fredericksen of Emigrant, MT; and four nieces, Hannah Fredericksen, Josie Fredericksen, Kendra Miller, and Melanie Watts.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at St. Nicholas Catholic Church; 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon, IL 62269.
Mass will begin on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church; 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon, IL 62269, with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; www.stjude.org. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.

I only worked with Brett for a short time. He made a big impact on the team and me personally. He was always upbeat, fun, and kind to everyone he met. I wish we could have spent more time together. Brett was very passionate about creating a program to help clients and Financial Advisors. Even after he left, he would call me while he was sick and share ideas to help ensure the program went on. We still use the program he created and it has been a big success. But, his number one concern was his family and his faith in God. You are in my prayers.

It has been over 30 years since I´ve seen Brett, yet he still stands strong in my memory as someone who exuded happiness and kindness when he entered a room (or walked up to a campfire). My condolences to Marti, and the whole Fredericksen family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
