Carl Chesser
Carl E. "Gene: Chesser, 69, of Hillsboro, Ill., born Dec. 22, 1934, in Hillsboro, Ill., died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Ill.
Mr. Chesser attended Hillsboro grade schools and was a 1952 graduate of Belleville Township High school. He was an electrician. Mr. Chesser was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and Local 309 before retiring in 1997, a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, Ill., charter member and past commander of the American Legion Post 1255, Belleville, Ill., a member of the Last Man Standing 22nd district and a member of AMVETS Post 45, Buchanan, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel E., nee Young, Chesser; a daughter, Diana Chesser in 1978; and six grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Jessie L., nee Woodson, Chesser, whom he married April 14, 1956, at St. Marks Church, Winchester, Ill.; his father, Carl W. Chesser of Hillsboro, Ill.; a brother, Bill (Barb) Chesser of Springfield, Ill.; seven daughters, Betty Jo (Dan) Earp of Fort Smith, Ark., Becky Sue (Steven) Quigley of Wilmington, Ill., Donna Chesser of Hillsboro, Ill., Cecilia (Brian) Storbeck of Wilmington, Ill., Carla Jean (Phil) Issert of Wilmington, Ill., Judy Chesser of Rocklin, Calif., and Joan (Bill) Eddy of Rocklin, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the family or in the form of Masses.

Visitation: Friends may called June 8, 2004, at Hough & Sons Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, Ill., with the Rev. James Neuman officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Ill.
