Carl Gause
Carl Lyle Gause, 69, of Edwardsville, Ill., born Nov. 14, 1939, in Marine, Ill., passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009.
From 1960 until 1979 he was employed at Bellm Freight Lines and from 1979 until present was employed by Pavyer Printing Machine Works in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of Eden United Church of Christ and a member of the Moose Lodge, both in Edwardsville, Ill. He will be remembered for the love of his family and his days of restoring antique automobiles, model railroading and gardening.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl L. and Lorraine, nee Thurnau, Gause; two sisters, Betty (Harry) Balke, Norma Gause; and a brother-in-law, Rolland Vulliet.
Surviving are his wife, Doris J., nee Foucek, Gause, whom he married on Feb. 25, 1961, in Marine, Ill.; one son, Jeffrey (Debra) Gause of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jace and Kassandra Gause of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two brothers, James (Stacy) Gause of Sesser, Ill., and Fred (LeAnn) Gause of Anderson, S.C.; four sisters, Carladine Vulliet of Highland, Ill., Lois (Vernon) Steiner of Pocahontas, Ill., Jackie (Henry) Potthast of Highland, Ill., and Jane (Darrel) Landolt of Highland, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Joanne Foucek of Troy, Ill., and Joyce Gosney of Glen Carbon, Ill.; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Glen Carbon Historical Society or to the Edwardsville High School Tigers Bowling Team and may be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the chapel with the Rev. Richard Unger and Ocie Steiner officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, Ill.
