Another St Libory rider here. We all enjoyed Mr. mulkey's ride to School. It was a long way to go and he was the best bus driver you could have. It was a matter of respect and we all had much respect for him. He would always have those shades on so you could not tell whether he was looking or not while you are initiating freshman with opening and closing of windows. And the times he had to put up with all of the mooning that went on from cars passing the bus going back home to StLibory. I always wondered if he ever got a chuckle inside from some of the things we did but had to of course not laugh or act like it was ok.
He will be missed by so many of us and was a great man to talk to. He really wanted to help you in any way he could.
God Bless You during this difficult time.

Just have others have said Mr. Mulkey was the best geometry teacher at FCHS. He had a unique sense of humor that I sincerely appreciated! He made class interesting and was a great man!

To the Mulkey Family

Mr. Mulkey was a great math teacher. I had him for geometry, and, like the others have said, he was a teacher that made you learn. He was also my bus driver. He made the ride to school interesting. You better had been quick getting on the bus because once your second foot was in the door, it was shut and the bus was moving. Mr. Mulkey will truly be missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Chris and family -- Very sorry for your loss. Your dad was one of the great FCHS teachers. With a great sense of humor he managed to make geometry fun and (relatively) easy. He is a great example of how a simple, unassuming small town guy can have a huge influence on the world by being a gifted teacher. ---Class of '90

Sharon & Family, Charlie was a very warm and friendly guy. We always had a laugh when he stopped by the kitchen. We sure did appreciate the produce he'd bring us in the fall from his garden. He will surely be missed, our deepest sympathy.

Mr. Mulkey, what a joy to know and learn from, my fondest memories include him giving everyone in class a nickname that stuck all year long. At the same time, we actually learned something!

The world will miss Mr. Mulkey. I'm so saddened by this news. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Mulkey family. -Class of 1990

I too had Mr. Mulkey as a math teacher. He was by far one of the greatest!! He had such a sense of humor that forced students to WANT to pay attention to what he was saying.
To the Mulkey Family – I am so sorry for your loss.

Mr. Mulkey was a great teacher to many students. He was a personal favorite teacher of mine. If you needed any type of help in math he was always willing to help and spend extra time with you. He was also a fun and intertaining bus driver he liked to play music and sing along (even though you begged him not to sing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and childeren.

My brothers and I all had Mr. Mulkey at some point at Freeburg. Chris was in my class and we had the same geometry class with his father. It was funny to watch him pick on his own son in class. I respected Mr. Mulkey immensely and his abilities to teach. Some teachers just let you float through the class. Mr. Mulkey actually made sure you learned something. He will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Tina Helfrich (class of 1990); Eric/Aaron Helfrich (class of 1992)

My thoughts are with you. These can be such trying times. When I was a high school student in Freeburg, Mr. Mulkey attempted to teach Algebra to me. I had a hard time, and he was very patient. I did not master Algebra, but I left his class with a deep respect for him. He was a wonderful teacher. My brief interactions with him later in my life reminded me how kind he was. I will remember him always as, like my father, one of the great men who touched my life.

To the Mulkey Family.

Charlie was a great person and one of a kind. I will always cherish the memories of "the meetings" at the Grade School bus garage in the mornings for coffee where Charlie would aggravate me...well ok.. I would aggravate Charlie.I have known Charlie most of my life and he will be deeply missed.
