Dominic Polczynski, Jr.

May 30, 1929 - October 17, 2025

Mascoutah, Illinois - Dominic Polczynski, Jr. , 96, of Mascoutah, IL born May 30, 1929 in Dubois, IL, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2025 at Freeburg Care Center.

Dominic was a retired automotive mechanic for Union Electric. He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, Mascoutah Senior Center, and IBEW Local 309. Dominic was a United States Army veteran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Susan, nee Wisniewski, Polczynski, Sr., his wife, Edna, nee Sherman, Polczynski, whom he married in Dubois, IL on May 15, 1954 and who died on Sept. 9, 2000, granddaughter, Tracey Polczynski, brother, James Polczynski, and sister, Joan Nowak.

Dominic is survived by his six children, Clifford (Sandy) Polczynski of Dubois, IL, Mark (Karen) Polczynski of New Athens, IL, Marlene (Michael) Viner of Belleville, IL, Lynn Polczynski of Woodriver, IL, Wayne (Mimi) Polczynski of Dubois, IL, Jolene (David) Fischer of Swansea, IL; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: From 3 to 7 PM Sunday Oct. 26, 2025, at Moll Funeral Home, Mascoutah, IL and from 9 to 10 AM Monday Oct. 27, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Freeburg, IL

FUNERAL: A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday Oct. 27, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg, IL with Father Mike Arockiam celebrating with Deacon Corby Valentine assisting. Burial with military honors will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.

My sincere condolences to Dominic“s family. Will be out of town.
He was one of the most wonderful people I was privileged to know during my days at St. James School. He was a great Dad whether following you progress in class to rooting for you in sports.
