Douglas Luehder

Douglas D. Luehder, 79, of Belleville, IL, born September 26, 1938, in Belleville, IL, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Luehder worked for Marsh Stencil, Lake View Memorial Gardens, AAA Insurance, and retired from Miller's Mutual Insurance Company. After retirement, he drove a school bus for First Student, where he was awarded Bus Driver of the Year for the entire State of Illinois. Doug, along with his cousin Rick Luehder, started the "First Tuesday of the Month Card Club". He loved to play rummy and poker. He was a loving husband, dad, and "Papa" who will be deeply missed.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Bert M., nee Lewis, Luehder; a daughter, Cindy Luehder; and his parents, Herman and Katherine, nee Maxfield, Luehder.

Surviving are four children, Pam (Jeff) Owens, Karen Jones (Rob Hurst), Michelle Robinson, and Jeff Laws; six grandchildren, Emma Owens, Steven (Elissa) Jones, Kaitlin Jones (fiance, Shane Meredith), Taylor Hurst, Ashley (Garrett) Call, and Justin Robinson; three great-grandchildren, Carter, Dalton, and Madelyn; a loving cousin, Rick (Patty) Luehder; his beloved basset hound, Miss Daisy; and many other family and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Forrest Hurst officiating.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
