Earlene Edson, 77, of Collinsville, Ill., born July 2, 1938, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Sept, 7, 2016, in Collinsville Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Edson Sr.; a daughter, Kathleen Albertina; a son, Donald Edson Jr.; grandson, Jaxon "Jax" Boone; and her parents, Earl and Ruth, nee Spencer, Chambers.
Surviving are her sister and brother, Pam (Terry) Roberson of Waterloo Ill., and Mike (Heidi) Hamilton of Washington Pa.; a son-in-law, Frank Albertina of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Eric Boone Sr., Anthony Albertina, Aaron (Kayla) Albertina, and Andrew Albertina.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed online at www.herrfuneral.com
Visitation: Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, Sept 12, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.

I am so sorry Albertina family for your loss. I know you boys meant the world to her. My heart is heavy for you guys and I am praying for comfort as you lay your grandmas to rest. I love you guys and you will always be a part of my heart.

Earlene will always be remembered as a good friend from East St. Louis. We all grew up as a family and were always together as Christian brothers and sisters. A good meeting place for everyone was the Salvation Army post on 6th St. Few of us are left to remember the fellowship we felt for one another. Rest in peace with God. All pain is over.
