Edith Sauer
Edith Sauer, 86, of Belleville, Ill., born May 25, 1920, in Belleville, Ill., died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Edith was retired as the candy lady at S.S. Kreske in Downtown Belleville. She was a former member of Retail Clerks Union and a charter member of Hope Church. She belonged to the Rebecca Lodge 415 of Belleville, AARP, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 58 in which she was a continuous member for 63 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Helder C. Sauer; her parents, John and Emma, nee Torrone, Gasiglia; and a sister, Mary Gasiglia.
Surviving are her niece, Corliss Harrell of Belleville, Ill.; and a nephew, Ronald (Marty) Sauer of Shelton, Wash.
Memorials may be made to Hope Church, Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital or the donor's choice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, at Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., with Rev. Bob Coon officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
