Belleville, Illinois - Floyd W. "Mike" Bowen, 86, of Belleville, IL, born February 8, 1937, in St. Louis, MO, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.
Mr. Bowen was a teacher and retired from Belleville School District #118.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Bowen; his parents, Delbert and Ursla, nee Durbin, Bowen; a sister, Barbara Horrell; and a brother, Buddy Bowen.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Fleshren; three daughters, Beth Ann Bogacki of New Douglas, IL, Lynn (Stan) Erlinger of Belleville, IL, and Laura (Bill) Twenhoefel of Freeburg, IL; a son, John (Mari-Rose) Bowen of Normal, IL; 11 grandchildren, Sarah Hampton, Benjamin (Cyndi) Bogacki, Zachary Bogacki, Ashlee (Jason) Erlinger, Chelsea (Derek) Lewis, Andria (Brent) Oest, Molly Twenhoefel, Andrew Twenhoefel, India Bowen, Anya Bowen, and Quinn Bowen; seven great-grandchildren; and six step-children, Dennis Fleshren, Janice Fraser, Jim Fleshren, Cindy White, Susan Mahoney, and Ann Fleshren.
Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Smithton, IL, with Fr. Stan Konieczny officiating.
Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
