Columbia, Illinois - Gaylynn Minnigerode, 74, passed away on February 25th, 2021 at Memorial Care Center. She was born August 10, 1946 in East Saint Louis, IL to John and Virginia (nee Lawton) Kuhn.
Gaylynn spent most of her working career working in insurance and banking. She was the first female insurance agent in St. Clair County, owning and operating Minnigerode Insurance Agency in Swansea for over 25 years. Outside of work, she was dedicated to her community and loved helping others. Her greatest joy was her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Gaylynn was preceded in death by her parents, her loving spouse, Kenneth Minnigerode, siblings, Gary Kuhn, Dennis Kuhn, Ricky Kuhn, Randy Kuhn; and grandson, Joshua Bush.
Surviving are her sisters, Carol Storm of Collinsville, Debra (Steve) Huddleston of Columbia; children, Shannon (Brian) Bosworth of Belleville, Ginny (Cody) Peter of Waterloo, Kristine (Matthew) Lamons of Millstadt, Valerie (Scott) Brinkman of Clayton, Bryan (Ophelie) Minnigerode of Seattle and Rick (Becca) Hansen of Waterloo; grandchildren, Margarete (Derek) Crawford, Ethan Lamons, Campbell Brinkman, Jenna Bush, Dempsey Brinkman, Jacob Bush, Emily Shank, Austin Minnigerode, Lilyana Minnigerode, Candice Minnigerode, Cole Peter, Drew Peter, Brynn Peter, and baby Hansen.

A Celebration of Life will be on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 7:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

To the Family and Friends of Gaylynn,
We send you our prayers and sincere sympathy. We go WAY back to Anita Drive and the Chateau Terrace subdivision. We were all new neighbors back then. Lots of little kids and lots of hands to help out. Gaylynn was not just a neighbor but a friend. Friendly, kind and fun to be around. We know you will miss her.

Dear Family . . . Gaylynn, along with dearly departed Ken, were long-time friends and associates. They were some of my favorite clients when I was associated with MidAmerica Bank & Trust in Fairview Heights and later we were colleagues when they both joined TheBANK of Edwardsvile in our Secondary Mortgage Market group. Oh . . . the good times we all had together in a close knit group of friends with Will and Julia Weeks, Bob and Bev Hoekstra, along with Karen and me. We were a hoot! We shall remember both Ken and Gay forever.
Karen and I regret that we will be unable to visit with you this evening and extend our very deepest and heartfelt sympathies. I happen to be on the waiting list for a hip replacement--so it's a bit difficult for me to get around.
