Millstadt, Illinois - Geraldine Phillips, 89, of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Friday, July 15th, 2022. She was born August 26th, 1932 in Belleville, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Nola (Toliver) Morrison, husband of 58 years, Robert W. Phillips, daughter, Judy Beussink, sisters, Rosemary Bosick and Juanita Grimmer, brothers, Sam Morrison and Al Morrison.
Geraldine is survived by a son Larry (Kathy) Phillips of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters Beverly (Steve) Meister of Belleville, Illinois, and Cindy (Jeff) Hettenhausen of Columbia Illinois; She is further survived by son in law, Ed Beussink, grandchildren, Holly and Thomas Phillips, Philip (Stacy) Meister, Matt (Kara) Meister, Amy (Matt) Heet, Brett and Joe Buessink, Jacob, Cade and James Hettenhausen, great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Jeremy, Henry, Charlotte, Thomas Meister, Lilly and Jack Heet, two sisters; Betty Voss and Patty (Ed) Kraft, and brother, Bob Morrison, as well as many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Gerry was a retired teacher's aide who worked with special needs children. She was an avid antique and doll collector who enjoyed setting up at the flea market and working in her booth at the antique mall. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Gerry's kindness and generosity truly made this world a better place.
A private visitation for family will be Thursday July 21st, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.
A private family funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, July 21st, 2022 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois, with Rev. Monsignor William McGhee officiating.
Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to Harmony West End Summer Camp.

Dear Cindy and Family,
My deepest condolences for your loss. I got to know your Mom when she worked at Toddler House and she was such a joy to be around. I remember admiring the patience and love she shared with each child. She always made me laugh and I was amazed at the energy she had always on the move! She had such a positive and happy spirit always! May the special moments and memories you shared with your Mom help you through these difficult days.

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. Aunt Gerry was a one of a kind Aunt. I feel very lucky to have had her in my life, and it will not be the same without her.May the family cherish and hold on to all their memories.

Oh what a wonderful lady. She got me going in buying and selling dolls. Gerry was a wealth of information. She came to me at the flea market to let me know I needed to increase the sale price of a doll to get it to sell. I marked it up and in half hour it sold. Gerry I'm so glad you and Bob are together again. You definitely will be missed. Farewell to one of the good ones.
