Troy, Illinois - Hugh Cunningham, age 87, of Troy, IL, born on July 19, 1933 in E. St. Louis, IL, died on January 21, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Hugh was a Korean War Navy Veteran, and a member of the Polish American War Veterans. He enjoyed 35 years of dedicated service with Ameritech/ATT, followed by 30 years of retirement. He took great delight in having fun, telling jokes with family and friends, and breakfast meetings with his Central Catholic High School friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Martin Cunningham; his granddaughter, Zoey Cunningham; his parents, John and Rose (Hammerle) Cunningham; his sister, Rosemary McVey and his brother, Jack Cunningham.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean (Linkey) Cunningham; his sons, Hugh (Penny) Cunningham of St. Jacob, IL, Mark (Erin) Cunningham of Highland, IL, Matthew Cunningham of Troy, IL, and Daniel (Kathy) Cunningham of Troy, IL; his grandchildren, Heather (Bobby) Fulkerson, Christopher (Nicole) Cunningham, Katelyn Cunningham, Mitch Cunningham, Brody Cunningham, Bree Cunningham, Blake Cunningham, Brooke Cunningham. and Blaire Cunningham; his great-grandchildren, Jayda Fulkerson, Baylee Fulkerson, Layla Fulkerson, and Brayden Fulkerson
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Polish American War Veterans.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.
Interment will follow on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Friedens Cemetery, Troy, IL.
