Jesus Pereda
Jesus Rosario Pereda, 63, of Belleville, Ill., born Dec. 15, 1945, in Chalan Pago, Guam, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Pereda was a retired Chief Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force. His was a dedicated career serving his beloved country.
Jesus was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria, nee Rosario, Perez; a brother, Ben Pereda; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Taitingfong.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Jurging-Pereda; children, Vernon T. Pereda of Belleville, Ill., Brian E. (Gina) Pereda of Swansea, Ill., and Sara E. (Kevin) Benn of Defiance, Mo.; step son, Wm. Zachary (Lori) Sever of Jacksonvill, Fla.; grandchildren, Tiarra Paige Pereda, Christian Xavier Pereda, Landon Andrew Pereda and Olivia Ann-Louis Pereda; step grandchildren, Wm. Xavier Sever, Isaiah Joseph Sever, Elizabeth Alice Benne and Savannah Grace Benne; and sister, Cecelia Taitingfong of Chalan Pago, Guam.
Memorials in Mr. Pereda's honor may be made to Family Hospice, Lutheran Senior Service Hospice Car or the USO.

Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at the funeral home with the Rev. Nathan Ruback and the Rev. Patrick O'Neal officiating. Interment in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Fairview Heights, Ill.
