Kenneth Schloemann Obituary

Kenneth Schloemann

January 7, 1940 - October 28, 2025

Belleville, Illinois - Kenneth R. Schloemann, affectionately known to friends as Kenny, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on January 7, 1940, in East St. Louis, IL.

Kenny was the dedicated and cherished husband of Alline, nee Artimisi, Schloemann, with whom he shared 59 beautiful years of marriage. Their life together was a foundation of love, partnership, and laughter for their entire family.

A proud veteran, Kenny served his country as an Air Force Reservist. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career as an electrician for McDonnell Douglas (later Boeing), retiring in 1999 after 36 years of dedicated work. He was immensely proud of his contributions to American defense, working tirelessly on some of the nation's most iconic fighter jets, including the F-4, Harrier, F-15 Eagle, and F-18 Hornet.

Kenny lived a full life defined by loyalty, friendship, and simple pleasures. He was truly a friend to many, and his infectious sense of humor and warmth made him a popular figure at the local tavern, where he enjoyed hanging out with his buddies. Kenny was an Elks Member, a member of the Swansea Moose Lodge, and a Lifetime Member of the Swansea Improvement Association. In his free time, Kenny could be found pursuing his favorite hobbies: the thrill of NASCAR races, the tranquility of fishing, hunting, and camping, and the challenge of a round of golf. Above all his accomplishments and interests, the title he enjoyed most was "Papaw," a role he embraced with boundless love and good humor. To know Kenny was to love him.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Hilda and William Schloemann; his siblings, Larry Schloemann, Marceline "Sis" Krug, Orval Schloemann, Wayne Schloemann, Don "Hank" Schloemann, and Gerald Schloemann; as well as the many good friends and relatives who preceded him.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Alline Schloemann of Belleville, IL.

He was the devoted father of Kris (Dale) Barschak of Smithton, IL, Kevin (Heather) Schloemann of St. Charles, MO, and Kent Schloemann of Swansea, IL. He was the cherished Papaw to three grandchildren, Lainey Barschak of Cincinnati, OH, Bret Barschak of Columbia, MO, and Cade Schloemann of St. Charles, MO. He is also survived by his siblings, a brother, Butch (Agnes) Schloemann of Belleville, a sister, Judie Klein of Germantown, IL; as well as many special nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his many friends who enriched his life.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville/Swansea Moose Lodge 1221. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Swansea Moose Lodge, Swansea, IL.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL, at a later date.
