Leona Dribben Obituary
Leona Bee Dribben, 87, of Smithton, Ill., born May 25, 1924, in Clearfield, Pa., died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Dribben was a 1942 graduate of Sharon High School, Sharon, Pa. She retired in 1992 from Armotek Industries in Palmyra, N.J., where she was an accountant for 20 years. Leona was a member of Central Christian Church in Hermitage, Pa. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, crocheting, reading, watching baseball, and especially taking care of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Dirbben whom she married in 1960, and who died Jan. 3, 1999; parents, William N. and Blanche Brickley Bee; five sisters, Edna O'Neill, Nellie McDade, Dolly Hromyak, Geneva Bartholomew, and Ruth Hassel; and three brothers, Ralph, Earl, and Arthur Bee.
Surviving are her son, William H. Dribben, M.D.; a daughter-in-law, Wendy M. Dribben; and four grandchildren, Blair of San Diego, Calif., and Aubrey, Chase, and Eli Dribben, all of Illinois.
Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon, Pa.
Funeral: A funeral service will be at noon Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the funeral Home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

I apologize for the delayed entry. I had been thinking of Leona lately and was so sad to learn of her passing away last summer. She was a remarkable woman and has remained in my heart and thoughts for many, many years. I am sure she is missed by all. Bill, you have my deepest sympathy. I will cherish the fond memories I have of Leona.

I was out town so was unaware of Leona's passing until recently. She was one of my favorie patrons at the Smithton Library. We always discussed the beooks we read and she inroduced me to several authors who were her favorites and then became one of my favorites. My sympathy to her family.

Leona will be missed. She was one of my favorite patrons of the library. She was so proud of her son's accomplishments and all of her grandchildren. Her entire family has my sympathy.

I was so sorry to hear of Leona's death. She was a dear friend of all of us at Smithton Public Library. I met her when she came into the library the first time after moving to Smithton. She continued to come in no matter how seriously ill she was and we were always concerned about her. She was a wonderful lady and a dear sweet person and we all loved her.
