Marvin D. Luedeman

1936 - 2024

Marvin D. Luedeman, 88, of Waterloo, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 3, 1936 in Freeburg, Illinois, passed away at Cedar Trails Senior Living in Freeburg, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family.

Marvin owned and operated the Plaza Barber Shop in Cahokia, IL for over 40 years, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was a past Elder and Secretary. He was an avid bowler and golfer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Luedeman, nee Nixon; his parents, Edwin and Hulda, nee Haberman, Luedeman; a brother, Wayne Luedeman; and a brother-in-law, Dorris Nixon.

Surviving are his children, Cindy (Dale) Schickedanz of Fairview Heights, IL, Kathy (Dan) Gabriel of Ballwin, MO, and Ed (Ann) Luedeman of Waterloo, IL; a sister, Dolores Brockmeyer of Steeleville, IL; two sister-in-laws, Pauline Nixon of Waterloo, IL and Loretta Luedeman of Steeleville, IL; five grandchildren, Dane (Heather) Schickedanz, Brad (Courtney) Blankenship, Katie (Derrick) Rule, Sydney Luedeman, and Drake Luedeman; and ten great grandchildren, Elle, Beau, Cal, Lenna, Vivie, Brynlee, Dashiell, Jett, Griffin, and Corinne. He was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Maintenance Fund.

Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia, Illinois. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Columbia, Illinois.
