My goodness. I was just thinking about Father Quilligan the other day, possibly on Sunday. What a coincidence! He was a priest at St. Bernard's Chruch in Wood River, Illinois when I was just a kid in the Catholic school, there.

He was a great priest and my mother really thought he was nice.

RIP Father and may God bless you and your family.

We thank God for letting Father be a part of our lives over these last 25 years. He was more than the parish priest, He was a part of our family--our kids called him Grandpa. We love you and will dearly miss you.

Sorry to hear of Father Quilligan's passing. My parents were parishioners of Mother of Perpetual Help Parish. My Mother used to make angel food cakes and my Father would take them to Father Quilligan.

My children attended St. John Neumann during the time when Father was quite active with the school. We all loved him dearly. We were always impressed by his knowledge of each child's name. The world needs more Father Quilligans.

Father Maurice J. Quilligan was a life long friend to my wife and myself. Jack and I were friends from high school days to the end of his life. He was ‘Best Man’ at our wedding and buried my wife Peggy in 2005 performing a most beautiful funeral service. The Lord had no better servant than “Father Jack” and I had no better “friend.”

Rest in peace “faithful Servant” and tell my beloved Peggy “Hell-o.”
