Melissa Cloninger

Melissa Cloninger, 30, of Granite City, Ill., born on March 1, 1982, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away on Feb. 15, 2013, in St. Louis, Mo.

Melissa had worked as a nursing assistant at several nursing homes in the area. She enjoyed listening to music and hanging out with her friends. Melissa will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Nancy, nee Stroder, Cloninger; dear brother, Jeremy Cloninger; and paternal grandparents, Vernon and Maudie Cloninger.

Surviving are her loving father, Raymond Cloninger of Granite City, Ill.; maternal grandparents, John and Norma Stroder of Granite City, Ill.; several aunts, uncles and many friends.

Memorials may be given to United Cerebral Palsy Heartland, 13975 Manchester Rd. Manchester, Mo. 63011 and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd. Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: Services in celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.
