Michael Manion Obituary
Michael Charles Manion, of Oceanside, Calif., born June 8, 1939, in East St. Louis, Ill., was quietly called to heaven on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
Michael enjoyed 75 years of celebrating life with his beloved family, his friends and our redeeming savior's grace.
A graduate of Belleville Township High School in 1958, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., with a degree in civil engineering while also studying in the engineering physics program. Mike spent many hours perfecting his passion of music. He performed with the Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in high school and in some of the top bands in the southern Illinois area: The Ron Mitchell Trio, The Bob Tyler Group and The Top Brass Band.
Mike was also an avid pilot. A man of many talents and limitless stories, Mike Manion touched countless lives. Extremely passionate about his family, his friends, his music and his Lord, Mike will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and June Manion of Belleville, Ill.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Annette (Mancini) Manion; his children, Martin (Julie) Manion, Michelle (Mani) Zendejas, Kelli (Craig) Moreno and Jennifer Baker; his two stepsons, James Hurley and Michael Hurley; his grandchildren, Zachary (Alissa) Zendejas, Aaron (Sara) Zendejas, Benjamin (Catherine) Zendejas and Matthew Zendejas; and great-grandchildren, Sofia, Levi, Rafael and Callie Zendejas.
Funeral: A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Calvary Chapel, 3715 Ocianic Way, Oceanside, Calif.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I didn't know Mike, but it sounds like he was a truly wonderful man. Know you will miss him greatly. I am curious however about his time spent as a Black Knight. My father, who passed away in 1974 ( or 1975?) was also in the Black knights. Would really like to converse with someone from his family, possibly through email or facebook to see if we could possibly have that connection. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss. Well Mike I just found out where you've been & was shocked that you passed away this month. I've tried to hit base with you thru asking about you on the Black Knights Face Book site & they knew of you but didn't know where you were, so we all felt like we had lost a very close friend that we thought of as a brother (the Roberson sisters, me - Judy Overby, DoDo Tyson, JoAnn Tinsley & Brenda Andruska. You may be gone but you'll never be forgotten, cause you really felt like Family to all of us!! RIP Mike & God Bless You.
