O'Fallon, Illinois - Michelle L. Ashby, nee Henry, age 51, of O'Fallon, IL, born on July 1, 1969 in Olathe, KS, died on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at her residence.
Michelle graduated from Belleville East High School in 1987 and went on to graduate from Barnes Jewish School of Nursing in 1995. She became a Registered Nurse for St. Elizabeth's Hospital where she ultimately became Nurse Manager of the ER. Michelle was a faithful member of the Fairview Heights Church of Christ where she met and married Ryan Ashby in 2005. They had two beautiful children that she loved with all her heart - Mackenna and Reese. Michelle enjoyed taking on any project that came her way but especially loved gardening and raising chickens. Michelle lived her life to glorify God in all that she did and strived to love and serve others as Jesus did. Although, she fought cancer for over a decade she always gave glory to God in everything and was an encouragement and inspiration to all. Those who knew and loved Michelle will miss her dearly, but we are confident in God's promise of eternal life with Him and will be reunited with her one day.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael R. Henry; and her mother-in-law, Joyce Ashby, nee Keel.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Ryan M. Ashby; her children, Mackenna Ashby and Reese Ashby, both at home; her mother, Sherry Henry, nee Fletcher of Fairview Heights, IL; her father-in-law, Ronnie Ashby of Granite City, IL; her sisters, Suzanne (Steve) Stumne of Bentonville, AR, and Jennifer (Dan) Morris of Fairview Heights, IL; her brother-in-law Casey (Amy) Ashby; her nieces and nephews, Corey (Meghin) Stumne, Abbie (Ben) Treme, and Chase Stumne, Nathan, Gracie and Hayden Morris, Christine Serrano-Ashby, and Sullivan Ashby; her great nieces and nephews, Eden, Eila, Baylor, Layton, Liam, Dawson, and Elaine; Michelle is also survived by her fur babies, Titus and Ava.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Fairview Heights, IL.
